About Hutt Valley District Health Board Overview
Hutt Valley District Health Board DHB was formed in 2001 and is one of 20 district health boards in New Zealand We are a governmentfunded organisation and are responsible for planning funding and providing health care and disability support services for the 141400 people who live in the Hutt Valley

We provide secondary and tertiary medical and surgical hospital services alongside primary and community based health care Our main facility is Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt which has 260 beds

We manage a current annual budget of approximately 422 million of which approximately half is spent on hospital and mental health services and the other half funds a range of primary a community health providers

Over 2200 people are employed by the district health board most of whom work at Hutt Hospital or for our community and regional health services

An 11 member Board has governance and strategic oversight of the Hutt Valley DHB
