History

History
Founded in 1929 by Dr EB Clark located in a family home purchased by the County Commission In 1958 HillBurton Grant used to build a larger modern hospital on Gracey Street The hospital was purchased and operated by HCA from 1972 to 1976 In 1978 the hospital was built on its current location at 401 Sewell Road In 1986 National Healthcare purchased the hospital from HCA Community Health Systems purchased White County Community Hospital in 1994 The new Emergency Department was added in 1999 In 2007 the CTMRI building was added March 1 2008 Capella Healthcare purchased the hospital
