History

Sturgis Memorial Hospital was built in 1925 with an endowment from the estate of William C Grobhiser A new facility Sturgis Hospital located at 916 Myrtle Avenue Sturgis was built in 1970 with an expansion completed in 1981 The original Grobhiser building was originally renovated in 1992 to house physician offices and later remodeled again to accommodate the addition of specialty clinics and more physician offices In 2005 an expansion was undertaken to remodel and update our surgical facilities

Sturgis Hospital is an 84bed licensed acute care facility Nearly 40 active Medical Staff members available within the Sturgis and surrounding communities represent a wide variety of specialties including Anesthesiology Family Practice Gynecology Internal Medicine Ophthalmology Orthopaedics Pathology Pediatrics Podiatry Radiology Additional specialties are offered through the Hospitals Courtesy Consulting and Affiliate Medical Staff members These services include Cardiology and Pulmonary medicine

Medicalsurgical care is offered on an inpatient and outpatient level Both laser and laparoscopic procedures are performed in the hospitals tworoom surgical suite Emergency services are available 24 hours a day 365 days a year with fulltime medical staff coverage Cardiac Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy programs as well as community education programs designed to help our community lead a healthier lifestyle are also available

Sturgis Hospital has a commitment to maintaining stateoftheart diagnostic technology which includes Angiography 128slice CT Scanning Mammography Mobile MRI a Sleep Disorder Laboratory and Spect Imaging and Ultrasound
