History

About Silverton Hospital
History
The origin of Silverton Hospital dates to 1918 and a twostory frame structure on North Water Street originally intended to house a large family With no elevator patients had to be carried by stretcher to and from the secondfloor operating room It was a primitive set up but it was the beginning of a tradition of caring that has endured for over nine decades

In 1937 the hospital moved to its current site and over the years the building has undergone numerous upgrades

In 1998 with the help of generous community donations a multiphased project was completed that transformed Silverton Hospital into a modern healthcare facility The continued growth of the community however has led to continued expansion as we have added new programs and services to meet our patients needs

Heading the list of renovations is our Family Birth Center Other expansions have inluded a new chapel an expanded Emergency Department a Sleep Lab and additional space for our Cardiopulmonary Services and Diagnostic Imaging departments

We are now well positioned to serve our communities into the future
