Sheridan Community Hospital SCH is a 25licensed bed acute care hospital located in the heart of Montcalm County The hospital employs over 190 workers and professional staff and serves Montcalm and parts of Ionia Gratiot Mecosta and Isabella counties In 1999 SCH became certified to provide care for patients requiring longerterm stays We now have ten beds that are certified as quotSwing Bedsquot or transitional care nursing

Services continue to expand and include emergency care and a walkin clinic 24 hours 7 days a week inpatient and outpatient services medicalsurgical care same day or short stay surgery pulmonary diagnostics two beautifully renovated sleep study suites physical therapy CT scanning ultrasound xray mammography nuclear medicine bone density testing and various other diagnostic testing Additionally SCH offers a variety of health and wellness programs like monthly education workshops health screenings community health fairs blood pressure clinics diabetes education and support groups

Sheridan Community Hospitals medical staff includes 12 active staff physicians over 50 consulting and courtesy staff physicians a team of ER physicians as well as many allied health professionals A variety of physician specialists see patients weekly in the Physician Specialists office located in the hospitals southwest wing and in the Cardiopulmonary Department Physician Specialists include cardiology earsnosethroat gastroenterology general surgery gynecology internal medicine neurology ophthalmology orthopedics pathology peripheral vascular physical medicine amp rehabilitation podiatry pulmonology radiology and urology

Sheridan Community Hospital has evolved in recent years from a hospital to being part of a much larger health system It includes four hospitalowned family health practices located in Sheridan Stanton and Edmore Sheridans Professional Complex housing a physician gynecologist in its lower level and a Medical Office Building offering family practice surgery and specialized foot care

In 2004 SCH completed a major renovation project which included a new outpatient services lobby registration and physician specialists office as well as a new diagnostic imaging department Most recently SCH finished the building of a new stateoftheart laboratory in May 2007 going from 660 to 1350 square feet Plans to follow include the construction of a new building that will house physical therapy and the Sheridan Care family practice expansion of the surgery department relocating the pharmacy department and central supply and making room for a new 32slice CT scanner in diagnostic imaging just to name a few of the changes taking place
