In 1999 with the support of the community and a land donation from The St Joe Company Sacred Heart Health System submitted a Certificate of Need to the State of Florida to build a 50bed hospital Sacred Heart received approval in April 2000 to proceed with building this new healthcare facility

Displaying their support for this new hospital the Emerald Coast community joined Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Sacred Heart Health System family members for a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2001 Our hospital opened for services on January 27 2003 Designed wtih growth in mind Sacred Heart is dedicated to becoming the Heart of the community and an investment in your future
