History

Providence Medical Center in Wayne Nebraska first opened its doors to the
residents of northeast Nebraska in 1975 under the operation of the
Missionary Benedictine Sisters

Located atop a hill at 1200 Providence Road PMC is a 25bed acute care
critical access hospital providing quality healthcare in response to the
needs of the more than 15000 people served

PMC employs over 170 individuals and furnishes acute skilledswingbed
and intermediate care as well as Medicare certified Home Health Hospice
and Private Pay Personal Care Palliative Care is also available

At the heart of our Radiology Department are stateoftheart radiology
equipment and a highspeed quadslice CT scanner Our radiologic
technologists are registered in radiography mammography CT ultrasound and
vascular imaging Mobile MRI and nuclear medicine services are also
accessible

Within the hospital adjoining the Hospice room a newly created family room
is a much appreciated addition to family and friends of terminally ill
patients

Coronary care units are available for intensive care patients
