Philhaven a nonprofit behavioral healthcare organization offers a wide range of services for children adolescents adults and older adults in south central Pennsylvania An agency of the Lancaster Conference of the Mennonite Church since 1952 Philhaven holds true to its founders vision of providing professional behavioral healthcare services in an atmosphere of Christian love and care

History

History
As a result of their service while staffing state mental hospitals during World War II a group of young Mennonite conscientious objectors had a desire to respond to the mental health needs in their own communities They believed that there had to be a better way to provide professional care for the mentally ill

Over the next decade Mennonite mental health facilities opened across the United States Philhaven was one of those centers dedicated to providing the highest quality mental health services within a Christian environment where everyone was treated with dignity and respect

Philhavens doors opened on May 7 1952 as a 26bed inpatient facility with outpatient and community education services Today Philhaven offers a continuum of services for all ages Philhaven is a nonprofit behavioral healthcare facility that is an agency of the Lancaster Conference of Mennonite Churches
