Specialized Services

North Broward Medical Center is Your Headquarters for Neurological Care At North Broward Medical Center we offer complete neurological services including a neurodiagnostic laboratory neurosurgery neuroradiology treatment rehabilitation services research and clinical drug trials as well as support groups and screenings We also offer only the best of specialized care from our certified neuroscience registered nurses CNRNs

The Neurological Institute was the first comprehensive neurological services facility in Broward and Palm Beach counties It provides evaluation and treatment for a full range of neurological problems including stroke Alzheimers disease Parkinsons disease sleep disorders dizziness and balance disorders and other audiology conditions Components of the Institute include the Sleep Disorders Center Dizziness amp Balance Center Memory Disorders Center Comprehensive Stroke Center and Audiology Center

National organizations available onsite to patients through the Neurological Institute include the Americans Parkinsons Disease Association the National Stroke Association South Florida Chapter the Alzheimers Association and the Brain Injury Association of South Florida

Spine Care Center North Broward Medical Center offers several specialized procedures including anterior cervical discectomy and fusion lumbar fusion lumbar laminectomy and lumbar microdiscectomy as part of a comprehensive program featuring an interdisciplinary team approach and preoperative and postoperative patient education

The Spine Care Center features a team of expert surgeons nurses therapists and technicians specially trained to provide comprehensive clinical care for patients undergoing back and neck surgery

Comprehensive Stroke Center North Broward Medical Centers Stroke Center is recognized as a certified Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Agency for Healthcare Administration Assessment and treatment for strokes begin in the Emergency Department by a specially trained team called the Brain Attack Team BAT The BAT is available 247 and consists of Emergency Medical Services EMS and paramedics emergency medicine physicians neurologists neurosurgeons interventional radiologists radiologists and nursing staff

Adult Level II Trauma Center The Center is one of two designated trauma units serving the northern twothirds of Broward County It features the latest equipment to handle trauma cases 24 hours a day

Orthopedic Services Services include a total joint replacement program and outpatient rehabilitation therapy including physical occupational and speech therapy A designated orthopedic unit is also featured
