CMCMercy was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy as the first Catholic Hospital in North Carolina On June 5 1995 this notforprofit adult health tertiary acute care facility was sold by the Sisters to Carolinas HealthCare System CMCMercy is licensed for 196 beds

As an adult acute care facility CMCMercy provides a fullrange of services from emergency room care to surgery to rehabilitation In addition we serve as the home to some of the areas most advanced specialty services such as The Heart Center The Lung Center Southeast Pain Care The Sleep Center and several others
