About Us
McKenzie Medical Center has evolved a long way since August 1978 when Dr Winkler first started practicing in McKenzie The McKenzie Medical Center opened its current location at 205 Hospital Drive in June 2000
The first clinic was located downtown on Main Street by the old post office now the Museum and the Town Square Originally Dr Edwards office the facilities were also used by Dr Lane Bicknell and then Dr SS Walker Throughout this time half of the building served as a Gulf gas station As the number of baby deliveries increased it became apparent that a move to the hospital clinic within the same building as the McKenzie Regional Hopsital 201 Hospital Drive was essential for DR WINKLER From 1981 to 2000 the clinic expanded through the McKenzie Doctors Clinic growing from one office to filling all the available space It was during this time that DR COLOTTA joined the McKenzie Medical Center team in August 1994
Meanwhile DR MERRICK originally worked out of the hospital clinic building his own Merrick Clinic in 1993 pictured below it is the building which currently hosts MMCs OB Department and New Age Skin Care Spa amp Salon
As the demand for doctors and services increased the move to a new facility became a must By joining their practices under one roof in 2000 Drs Merrick Colotta and Winklers aim was to be able to provide a range of services not possible as individuals As a result a new building was constructed behind McKenzie Regional Hospital at 205 Hospital Drive MMCs current location pictured below
McKenzie Medical Center strives to enhance the access and quality of medical care available to residents not only in McKenzie but also in surrounding areas To better achieve this goal MMC opened its first satellite clinic in Bruceton in July 2008 The BRUCETON CLINIC is the towns only family medical clinic
In December 2009 MMC opened its second satellite clinic in Dresden The initial goal of the DRESDEN SPECIALTY CLINIC is to provide further family medicine options for Dresden and the surrounding area Working together with McKenzie Medical Center Dresden is now also starting specialty care
