While it serves the areas routine health care needs LBMC is additionally a center for advanced medical procedures assuring community residents that they will have access to cutting edge treatment right at their hometown hospital Through a collaborative venture with the Center for Molecular Medicine LBMC now offers a revolutionary treatment for lethal brain tumors Other unique services include EECP enhanced external counter pulsation an innovative noninvasive technique to reduce the symptoms of angina and The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center for the treatment of problem wounds

LBMCs Family Care Center provides primary and specialty medical care for people with limited financial resources Physician specialists in family practice pediatrics obstetrics gynecology cardiology general surgery and many other specialties staff the Medical Center The Medical Center has an extensive physical rehabilitation program including a 15bed inpatient unit and numerous outpatient services LBMCs behavioral health services include a 25bed inpatient psychiatric unit inpatient medical detoxification and outpatient services for the treatment of alcoholism substance abuse and mental health problems

LBMCs commitment to the community is reflected in the hospitals numerous health screenings support groups and education programs Offered throughout the year these programs educate the community about important health issues and provide screenings for such conditions as alcoholism cancer and depression

The fundamental mission of Long Beach Medical Center is to provide high quality services to meet the health care needs of the communities of Long Beach Lido Beach Point Lookout Atlantic Beach Island Park and other neighboring communities To the residents of these communities and to others needing health services Long Beach Medical Center will provide a broad range of services including acute care long term care home care and ambulatory care consistent with the needs of the community and the capacity of the institution to meet those needs Where appropriate the Medical Center will collaborate with other institutions to enhance services in the community
