Serving the people of Lincoln County Lincoln Hospital District 3 is proud to offer the highest quality medical care to its friends and family All providers are Board Certified Lincoln Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital located 36 miles west of Spokane WA and is Trauma Level IV rated Lincoln Hospital is owned by the taxpayers of Lincoln County as it is a public hospital district


History

Lincoln Hospital District 3 was formed in 1961 by a grassroots movement of the local community to establish a hospital district in Davenport The group not only wanted to bring local healthcare to Lincoln County but provide a nursing home and jobs to boost the economy Over the past 40 years Lincoln Hospital expanded to include three medical clinics assisted living long term amp transitional care It has grown tremendously in terms of number of staff and availability of services Starting with a staff of 50 under administrator Paul Kembel Lincoln Hospital now employs nearly 300 people under the management of administrator Tom Martin

2000
Reardan Clinic opens with Susan Eastman ARNP at the helm

Long Term Care adopts Eden Alternative program to offer residents independence and fulfillment through involvement in their own community and care plan by seeking to rid the nursing home of loneliness helplessness and boredom

2001
The hospital district establishes North Basin Medical Clinics and opens medical clinics in Wilbur and Davenport and organizes all physicians practicing in the district under the employment of Lincoln Hospital

2002
Lincoln Hospital earns Critical Access Hospital Designation through the State and Federal Government This gives hospital full costbased compensation for Medicaid and Medicare patients

2003
Lincoln Hospital forms Critical Access Hospital Network to share support services ideas and expertise throughout the state This program is nationally recognized and earns many grants for innovative quality ideas

North Basin Medical Clinics earns Rural Health Clinic designation through State and Federal Government This gives clinics full compensation for Medicaid and Medicare patients

The Wilbur Clinic moves to a new hospital district owned expanded location at 214 SW Main

2004
Lincoln Hospital spearheads the development and expansion of the Rural Health Quality Network This group of hospitals works together to improve quality through peer review in rural hospitals Network now includes 38 Rural Hospital members Again the RHQN is nationally recognized and is a model for healthcare quality improvement programs throughout the US

2006
Lincoln Hospital partners with Sacred Heart Medical Center and Northwest MedStar Critical Care Transport to bring the ground breaking Level Onequot Cardiac Partnership to Lincoln County It is the first such program in the state and is soon being implemented throughout rural Washington

Lincoln Hospital establishes electronic medical records in Acute Care

2007
The Reardan Clinic is relocated to a new districtowned modular facility on the east side of Reardan The new facility expands patient comfort and gives room for future upgrades and additions

2008
Lincoln Hospital and its partners are awarded the prestigious Qualis Health Award for Excellence in Healthcare Quality

Lincoln Hospital is asked by the Washington State Department of Health to pattern a stroke program after the awardwinning Level One Cardiac Partnership FAST Stroke is born and expands throughout the state

North Basin Medical Clinics establishes electronic medical record in all three clinics

2009
Lincoln Hospital is awarded a National Demonstration Grant from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services to pilot a diabetes outreach program Healthy for Life Diabetes Management is formed to help people in Lincoln County manage their diabetes through medical diligence exercise and weight loss

In response to regional needs Lincoln Hospital opens a Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Unit
Elmer Hospital named babyfriendly
