Opened in 1918 Jackson Memorial Hospital is an accredited taxassisted tertiary teaching hospital with more than 1500 licensed beds In conjunction with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine faculty Jackson Memorial provides a wide range of patient services educational programs a clinical setting for research activities and a number of healthrelated community services

Convenient Access to Quality Care

The primary care centers included in the Jackson Health System network are strategically located throughout the county in areas identified as having the greatest need These clinics focus on localized health maintenance and disease prevention for the populations they serve The community based health centers are sensitive to the special needs and health status indicators within their respective neighborhoods

Jackson Health Systems neighborhoodbased primary care centers are linked to the UMJackson Memorial Medical Center About onethird of the patients who visit Jackson Memorial Hospital annually are referred through primary care centers in the community The primary care network is linked by a computerized information system that shares demographic and medical information and facilitates patient movement throughout the system This ensures proper care in the appropriate setting

Since opening our doors in 1918 Jackson has grown from a 13bed community hospital to an internationally recognized medical system offering services from routine care to rare lifesaving procedures As residents of MiamiDade County we are all privileged to have this wealth of medical expertise right here in our own backyard As we look back at more than 90 years of history we look forward to many more years of serving the Miami community and offering worldclass medical care to all who need it
