Founded in 1954 as the communitys premiere notforprofit hospital Iredell has grown into a thriving locallymanaged regional health system

Iredell Memorial Hospital is a 247bed nonprofit facility whose mission is to provide quality healthcare to persons living in Iredell and surrounding counties The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations Iredell Health System maintains a certified Community Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer They are the only diabetes program throughout the county to be recognized by the American Diabetes Association

Iredell Health System employs approximately 1600 people and has approximately 140 physicians on staff representing a variety of specialties Iredell offers convenient and easy access to stateoftheart diagnostics and comprehensive health services Centers of Excellence include Womens and Childrens Cardiovascular Cancer Surgical Services and Wellness amp Prevention

Iredell Health System also includes Iredell Home Health serving Iredell and surrounding counties and the Wellness Center at Morrison Plantation in Mooresville NC

We are consistently the first in the county to offer the latest technology and our strong tradition of nursing care focuses on the patients needs Our employees and physicians are continually giving back to the community through free screenings fundraising and volunteer work

Our Mission Statement
Iredell Memorial was established to provide quality health care to the citizens of Iredell County In recent years this mission has expanded to all contiguous counties By carrying out this mission the health care system has taken a leadership role in the provision of health care and health promotion programs for the citizens of Iredell and surrounding counties

This leadership role should continue with the understanding that serving citizens from outside Iredell County broadens the base support and provides a larger volume of patients that can help reduce the costs to all of the citizens this health care system serves Iredell Memorial will strengthen its leadership role through the ongoing cooperation and working relationships of members of the board medical staff and local business and industry

Iredell Memorial will maintain fiscal responsibility and function as an economically sound and responsible notforprofit entity that develops revenues through appropriate utilization of available resources

By continuing this leadership role Iredell Memorial Hospital will

Our History
When Iredell Memorial Hospital opened in 1954 we were a 100bed hospital with a mission focused on the wellbeing of the community we serve Although we have grown to a 247bed hospital to meet the needs of the community today the buildings and grounds are still owned by the citizens of Iredell County and all revenue is reinvested in medical technology and staff Because we are a notforprofit hospital our focus is on promoting health and wellness in our community not on the bottom line

Our dedication to our community is evident in the 5star customer service awards we consistently receive Because of the low turnover in staff and our high nursetopatient ratios our patients receive continuity of care that is hard to find anywhere else Our purpose is to provide advanced healthcare while maintaining the warmth and compassion of a community hospital giving our patients the peace of mind that they are getting the best medical care available
