Geneva General Hospital GGH founded in 1898 is a 132bed general acute care hospital providing both primary care and a full range of secondary level services Geneva General Hospital operates 10bed intensive care unit and a 12bed telemetry unit as well as six pediatric beds Our skilled nurses have specialty certifications to work in these areas Pediatric nurses are certified in pediatric advanced life support ICU and telemetry nurses are certified in advanced critical life support

A full range of Diagnostics are available at GGH including spiral CT scanning nuclear medicine magnetic resonance imaging MRI cardiovascular diagnostics and complete gastroenterology service The 14bed Family Birth Center features single room labor delivery recovery and postpartum care Geneva General Hospitals 13station outpatient renal Dialysis Center and inpatient acute treatment center services residents from a fourcounty area in the Finger Lakes The hospital also operates a regional Acute Physical Rehabilitation Center an inpatient 15bed unit located next to the Garnsey Rehabilitation Center Comprehensive physical rehabilitation services are provided for patients with rehabilitation diagnoses such as stroke closed head injury hip fractures and replacements orthopedic disorders multiple sclerosis cancer multiple trauma and other debilitating conditions


History

Geneva General Hospital GGH founded in 1898 is a 132bed general acute care hospital providing both primary care and secondary level services A full range of diagnostic modalities is available at GGH including 64slice CT scanner nuclear medicine magnetic resonance imaging MRI cardiovascular diagnostics and complete gastroenterology service The 12bed Family Birth Center features the single room labor delivery recovery and postpartum care concept The 10bed chemical dependencyacute detoxification service is the only one of its kind in the region between Buffalo and Syracuse The hospitals 13station outpatient renal dialysis center and inpatient acute treatshyment service serves residents from a fourcounty area in the Finger Lakes The hospital also operates a regional 15bed acute physical rehabilitation program specializing on improving independence for persons following a lifechanging event such as a stroke or significant orthopedic fracture This is a unique service in the Central Finger Lakes region GGH is staffed by a Hospitalist service comprised of 9 physicians who provide 247365 medical supervision for inpatients

Long term care services at the Geneva campus include the Living Center at Geneva North LCGN an 80bed nursing home which also operates a shortterm Respite Care program Opened in 1996 LCGN is the newest addition to our long term care division

The Living Center at Geneva South LCGS is a 103bed nursing home that opened in 1971 as the first nursing home in New York State to be attached to a hospital LCGS operates a 25 participant Adult Day Health Center in Geneva and 15 participant center in Waterloo to provide a continuum of care for the elderly and those in need of medical supervision The living center specializes in short term rehabilitation services through its Transitional Care Unit

The North Street Apartments a 50unit elderly housing complex is operated on the Geneva campus to further complement our long term care services This hospitalsponsored facility meets identified housing needs of elderly and handicapped citizens in Ontario County

The hospital also operates the highly regarded Marion S Whelan School of Practical Nursing which provides a source of welltrained licensed practical nurses for the Finger Lakes region By using the schools innovative One Plus One program students can continue their education for one more year at Finger Lakes Community College and become a registered nurse One of only three hospitalbased practical nursing programs in the state the school enjoys full accreditation from the National League for Nursing

Founded in 2008 the Finger Lakes Health College of Nursing offers a fulltime college experience that is flexible and conducive to adult learners This hospitalbased Associate Degree program is open to all applicants interested in pursuing a career as a registered nurse and it is the first College of Nursing in the area to offer classes focused on adult learners who can benefit from an evening and weekend class schedule

The Finger Lakes Surgery Center provides a full range of outpatient and minimally invasive surgery including orthopedics eye ear nose amp throat general surgery endoscopy and podiatry services Built in 2005 to provide a healing environment for patients and staff the surgery center features soft colors artwork a fireplace and attentive and supportive staff

Clyde Family Health Center located in Clyde NY 22 miles northeast of Geneva opened in 2006 and provides a full range of primary care services Laboratory services are also provided at this site

Waterloo Campus
The Seneca Family Health Center opened in 1999 and provides a full range of primary care services In addition the center offers an occupational health program providing a wide range of health and wellness services to employees of local businesses and industries Laboratory radiology and physical therapy services are conveniently located next door in the TaylorBrown Health Center

Long term care services include the Huntington Living Center a 160bed nursing home that includes a 40bed special needs unit providing long term care services for Alzheimers related diseases

The East Main Street Apartments is a 40unit elderly housing complex which meets identified housing needs for elderly and handicapped residents in Seneca County

Soldiers amp Sailors Memorial Hospital SSMH named to honor and memorialize area residents who served in World War I has been located on the northern edge of the village since 1924 Offering a full range of services including emergency care with a newly established Advanced Life Support Unit outpatient surgical services including endoscopy primary care long term care and mental health services SSMH operates a 25bed general acute care hospital including 3 intensive care unit beds medicalsurgical and telemetry beds A 10bed inpatient psychiatric unit is also operated at the Penn Yan site Outpatient diagnostic services include laboratory physical therapy radiology including a 16slice CT scanner pulmonary and cardiology services including cardiac rehabilitation

The Dundee Family Health Center is an outpatient primary care facility located in the village of Dundee NY 12 miles south of Penn Yan The facility specializes in Family Medicine and serves infant pediatric adult and geriatric patients from Dundee and surrounding communities A lab draw station is also onsite Services are provided by a family practice physician nurse practitioner licensed practical nurse and support staff

Located a short distance from the main Penn Yan campus the John D Kelly Behavioral Health Center an outpatient mental health facility housing a mental health clinic continuing day treatment program and senior outreach program is a modern facility which opened in June 1996 The clinic provides a variety of individual family and group counseling services and support groups The continuing day treatment program serves severely and persistently mentally ill clients who require ongoing care through individual and group activities The senior health program also includes a 24hour oncall crisis team to provide emergency evaluations as needed

Long term care services are provided by The Homesteada 150bed long term care center which provides an 18 participant Adult Day Health Care program along with a 20bed neurobehavioral unit and a respite bed for shortterm stays

Finger Lakes Health Foundation provides financial support for projects throughout the health system Charitable gifts from area residents businesses civic organizations and other community sources combined with contributions from those closely affiliated with the health system help fund a variety of special projects Annual Fund campaigns estate and deferred gifts giftsinkind and investment income provides funding for Foundation grants
