Our hospital was originally built in 1984 by the Charter Corporation with the purpose of treating mental health and substance abuse problems in both adults and children When the Charter system was dissolved the hospital was bought by Keystone and then later by Universal Health Services the thirdlargest hospital management company in the United States owning and operating more than 140 facilities nationwide At that time the hospital was renamed Coastal Harbor Treatment Center and the focus of our treatment program was also redesigned in order to specifically serve the needs of children and adolescents In 20062007 our hospital completed a massive renovation to all areas of the hospital further enabling us to offer exceptional care to all we serve
