Clinch Memorial Hospital was opened in 1957 as a 40bed rural community hospital In 1997 South Georgia Medical Center entered into a management agreement to provide an administrator and clinical and management consult services at Clinch Today the hospital maintains a loyal following of community supporters who are excited to have this new facility in their community Clinch Memorial Hospital is the 4th largest employer in Homerville

The Clinch County Hospital Authority broke ground for the new Clinch Memorial Hospital at 130 pm on Tuesday December 6 2005 at the construction site located at 1050 Valdosta Highway in Homerville Local officials welcomed legislative dignitaries and representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture the agency awarding the construction grant for the replacement hospital The new 25bed critical access hospital opened in April 2007

South Georgia Medical Center is a 335bed not for profit authority governed regional referral hospital located in Valdosta Georgia serving a multicounty area in South Georgia and North Florida A fullservice acute care hospital SGMC provides a wide range of healthcare services SGMC is the largest nongovernmental employer in Lowndes County employing over 2300 people A selfsupporting hospital SGMC proudly provides care for the sick and injured with no local tax support
