History

In the beginning Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital was founded in 1910 as a private nonprofit corporation at a site on North 6th Street and Highway 7 When the doors opened to admit the hospitals first patients the hospitals goal was to provide high quality health care in a responsible setting In approximately 1947 the clinic was officially named the Montevideo Clinic and was located on the lower level of the First National Bank The hospital was relocated to 824 North 11th Street in 1976 During June of 1978 the Clinic moved into facilities attached to the hospital as the need for space increased On January 1st 2005 the Hospital purchased the clinic and combined operations Our combined Hospital and Medical Clinic is a government city and county owned facility with links to Luther Haven Nursing Home and Copper Glen Assisted Living Residence The original goal to provide high quality health care in a responsible setting continues to be a prime motivator of our organization and is reflected in our mission statement
