Description

Our practice is at the vibrant amp colourful heart of Bristols inner city serving a population from all corners of the world and from all walks of life Our largest ethnic minority groups come from the Carribean the Asian subcontinent and Somalia but increasingly we see people from a huge range of countries We serve patients who may be homeless struggling with alcohol or drugs and seeking help to begin piecing life together at the other end of the spectrum we serve patients who are settled doing well in life and who seek help to ensure they remain in the very best of health

As a practice we believe passionately in responding to all of our patients cultural amp social agendas We work closely with a broad amp enthusiastic team to help us to do this As well as the usual range of primary health care team members we have interpreters drug project liaison workers counsellors welfare benefits advisers and many other members in the wider team here

We are a forwardlooking practice in a new purpose built health centre amp recently reconstituted by the merging of two practices so that we now serve a population of 13000 people We have a vision of maintaining the personal approach to our patients while as a larger practice being able to make the most of all the new opportunities that the National Health Service has to offer

History

The practice was formed in 2005 by the merger of two longstanding local practices Dr Norman and partners and Dr Price and partners

These two practices can trace their roots in the area back for many decades sited in other premises even before the original Charlotte Keel Health Centre was built in the 1950s and previously with far flung branch surgeries which explains the size and shape of the practice area Each practice had its own particular interests and skills and bringing the two together has produced a richlymixed and newlyenergised team

The merging of the two practices coincided with a stunning rebuild of the Charlotte Keel Health Centre a complete new IT system and the provision of additional services opening up a wealth of new opportunities We believe that by using our long experience in the area while grasping new resources and possibilities puts us in a strong position to give the very best service to our patients
