History of Glenfield Hospital
Glenfield Hospital has around 520 beds Like the other hospitals within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust it is a teaching hospital and has a purposebuilt Clinical Education Centre

The hospital has its own helipad to allow rapid access for helicopters carrying emergency patients to the hospital It has the subregional Trent cardiothoracic centre which is the third largest unit in the country

We started the first ECMO ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation programme in the country at Glenfield Hospitaland for both adult and paediatric patients Today it is the most successful centre in the world using the ECMO procedures

Glenfield Hospital has a national and international reputation for cardiology heart surgery and respiratory medicine for both adults and children
