Description

Broadgreen Hospital has been largely rebuilt in the last 15 years with the final phase of redevelopment a surgical diagnostic and treatment centre being finalised in May 2006

This development provided much improved facilities for patients and carers including the latest diagnostic equipment such as MRI and CT scanners digital imaging and automated pharmacy dispensing

The hospital is the main location for all our elective general urological and orthopaedic surgery diagnosis and treatment together with specialist rehabilitation

In 2006 we opened the stateoftheart barn theatre which forms part of our wider commitment to create a urology diagnostic and treatment centre at Broadgreen Hospital The new theatre has led to changes in working practices with consultants able to run parallel operating tables to ensure optimum use of theatre capacity

The Broadgreen Treatment Centre separates planned care from unplanned care which means patients are less likely to have their operations cancelled

Broadgreen Hospital is the only hospital in the city to have its own radio station Radio Broadgreen can be found on bedside radio headsets

The hospital shares the site with the Cardiothoracic Centre Liverpool NHS Trust and the Broadoak Unit which is part of Mersey Care NHS Trust
