The beginning of the 12 bed hospital was the fruit of a dream of RevFr Sebastian Pinakattu and MMS Rt Rev Dr James Kalasserry the then Bishop of Changanacherry was the Patron The pioneers SrJohn Kuthivalachel Sr Francis Pullukattu Sr Xavier Kunnel and Sr Ann Kayathinkara were professionally trained at Rawalpindi Dr Agus Coshan was the first resident doctor

Sr Damian Besseling Sr Cabrini Vettickappallil Sr Xavier Kunnel Sr Anne Bellosillo Sr Rosily Vanisserry Sr Johanna Marie Kootter Sr Celine Kallarackal Sr Rosaline Muricken Sr Victoria Karimattam and Sr Josita Myladiyil catered the institution as Administrator with much love and commitment in their turn Sr Rose Vachaparampil is now serving as the Administrator and Mr Josbin Mathew Kadaplackal is the Asst Administrator of the hospital

Today the hospital has bed strength of 200 with department of General medicine Surgery OB Gynecology Pediatrics Orthopedics Psychiatry Alternate Therapy and part time Cardiology Acupuncture acupressure drugless therapy pranic healing and ultrasonic therapy alcohol and drug deaddiction are also part of the treatments here Pastoral care counselling and patients follow up aim at the total healing spiritual mental and psychological healing of the person and ones family Quality nursing care is the hallmark of the hospital Hospital is honored as a BABYFRIENDLY hospital

Nursing school is known for its excellent professional training A well organized community health department CHD reaches out to the marginalized in the society with special focus on women and children CHD has been active in the fields of immunization village clinics substance abuse control of infectious diseases and HIV AIDS prevention especially among students and adults Conscientization of people about their right to health environmental issues are commendable Contribution of local people through financial assistance and voluntary service from the very beginning of the hospital is noteworthy
