History

This history of Western Kings Memorial Hospital is a special project of the hospital auxiliaries of Berwick in celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of the opening of the first hospital Every effort has been made to insure an accurate summary of events in order to give an overall picture of developments but of necessity much has been omitted Some persons or groups who have given devoted service to the cause have not even been mentioned This we regret but space is limited

The information presented here has been gleaned chiefly from accounts appearing throughout the years in the Berwick Register and other publications as well as from hospital records We wish to thank all those who have loaned us pictures and clippings whether or not they were used
