1924 Official opening of St Marys Hospital Camrose
A 50 bed hospital founded by the Sisters of Providence of St Vincent de
Paul

1924 Hospital Guild established

1924 Training School for nurses closed 1932

1933 Full accreditation status awarded one of fourteen in the Province

1949 New wing added capacity increased to 117 beds

1969 New addition maintaining beds at 117

1989 New facility opened replacing

1924 1949 and 1969 buildings 117

1993 Reduction in beds to 85

1995 Reduction in beds to 76 Regionalization

2002 Transfer of sponsorship to the Alberta Catholic Health Corporation

2003 Establishment of the St Marys Hospital Camrose Foundation

2008 Joined 15 other Catholic health care facilities across Alberta under a
single board and administration with the interim name of Catholic Health of
Alberta

2008 Covenant Health was officially incorporated through legislation under
the Covenant Health Act

2009 First Annual Legacy Day to renew the dedication to the Purposes of the
Founding Sisters of all the Covenant Health Sites
