The Durham Rape Crisis Centre is a feminist organization that believes in the equality of all people regardless of race class sexual orientation or gender

We are committed to taking an active role in our community to end all forms of violence against women and children

As a Rape Crisis Centre we work with and provide support services to recent as well as historical or childhood survivors of sexual assault sexual harassment and childhood sexual abuse and their families

On behalf of the Durham Rape Crisis Centre we would like announce our upcoming 2009 Fundraising Calendar Reclaiming our Voices Artwork by Survivors of Sexual Assault By purchasing this calendar you can not only show your financial support but can also send a message of support to the women in Durham Region who have experienced sexual violence in their lives

I hope you find the images contained in our calendar both moving and inspiring Each image has been reproduced from art work created by clients in our Art Therapy Program I feel that these images capture not only pain and struggles but also hope and joy in its most purest forms

All proceeds from the sale of this calendar will go to help provide direct service to victims of sexual violence across the Durham Region Whether it be our 24 hour Crisis and Support line individual and group counselling court support and hospital accompaniment or our art therapy program Each and every donation makes a difference and a statement about Sexual Violence in our Community
