History

During the early 1970s when there were no physicians practicing in Glendale Heights area leaders rallied to develop a community hospital formed an Auxiliary and held fundraisers in anticipation of constructing a new hospital As support grew developer Harold Reskin donated five acres and the hospital purchased the another 10 acres of land that originally housed the childhood home of Merle Reskin a founding father of Glendale Heights On March 9 1980 the Glendale Heights Community Hospital opened its doors The hospital later became affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital in 1982 and in 1997 both hospitals became part of Adventist Midwest Health a member of the Adventist Health System currently the largest nonforprofit religious health care system in the nation
