Welcome to Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie Georgia Our hospital is a 99bed acute care hospital serving Colquitt Cook Worth Mitchell Tift and Thomas counties

Colquitt Regional is conveniently located near the intersection of South Main Street and US 319 on the southeast side of Moultrie where it is easily accessible from all directions The hospital is served by more than 60 physicians who practice in 30 specialties including oncology cardiology and gastroenterology

Over the years Colquitt Regional has been recognized for its high level of patient satisfaction and was cited in 2009 ranking in the top 15 percent of hospitals nationwide for overall patient satisfaction Colquitt Regional which was awarded the 2008


History

In 1937 on the heels of the Great Depression WC Vereen called on the community to match his generous pledge of 50000 which could secure the land and build and equip Colquitt Countys first public hospital The Moultrie Hospital Corporation was formed and with the assistance of Franklin Roosevelts Work Progress Administration it completed successful fundraising efforts

The Vereen Memorial Hospital was dedicated in October of 1939 More than half a century later much has changed at Colquitt Regional Medical Center including the name However the generosity and concern of our citizens who support the tradition of quality health care in this community continues

In 1988 the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation was established to ensure health care excellence for future generations As a community notforprofit hospital Colquitt Regional Medical Center faces many challenges and needs the support of the community Support from private citizens helps provide the newest medical technology improve patient care upgrade existing facilities and furnish education and preventive health opportunities for the community Funds received by the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation are used for accomplishing these goals not for operating expenses

Knowing that you have contributed to the quality of life in this community or helped to save or improve a life is a rewarding aspect of giving to the Medical Foundation Your gifts to the Medical Foundation are tax deductible Foundation donors receive special recognition and are invited to special events sponsored by the hospital
