Description

Phillip came from a deprived and dysfunctional family where physical and sexual abuse was a secret Phillip suffered alone Phillip found himself increasingly isolated from his peers and school became set of stressors to suffer As a reaction to these combined difficulties he began to exhibit violent and aggressive behaviour

After being expelled from numerous schools and truancy being the coping mechanisms Phillip was admitted to a mental health hospital where aged just 15 he was diagnosed with schizoid personality phobias and low IQ Between the ages of 15 and 19 he was admitted to hospital 9 times Despite receiving treatment Phillip made little progress His violent and aggressive episodes continued to escalate and began to include sexual and physical assault and selfinflicted injury

In 2009 in his late 30s Phillip was admitted to Doulton Lodge Although he had spent most of his twenties and thirties in prison and a series of other hospitals his behaviour had been managed but Phillip never received the treatment package which could move him forward The MDT team assessed Phillip and swiftly developed a treatment programme of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and psychiatric counseling With the correct medication regime Phillip started to respond and develop into the person he is today Phillip learnt to read and write and has become a published writer of poetry Phillip has now built positive healthy relationships with his sister Phillip is now working towards moving into domiciliary care with the support of his new found family
