Nazareth Hospital Shillong is a 350 bed multi specialty progressive hospital belonging to the Archdiocese of Shillong It was founded by the Missionaries of Christ Jesus Spain as an out patient treatment centre in 1959 and facilities were added with 60 beds and began to function as a hospital in 1965 Since then the hospital is on its path of developments and modernization adding new departments and services The administration of the hospital has been handed over to the sisters of Holy Cross Kottiyam Kerala in 1988 Now the hospital is well established with 350 beds having many specialties and super specialty and its out reach program covering 10 villages both in urban and rural areas The mission statement of the hospital is to protect preserve and nurture life
