Divya Prabhareg Eye Hospital was established by Prof Dr Suseela Prabhakaran The Founder Director of Regional Institute of Ophthalmology Thiruvananthapuram and Adviser in Opthalmology to Government of Kerala The new eye Hospital she envisaged was to be a perfect combination of form and function to offer the utmost in patient care comfort and convenience at an affordable price

Divya Prabhareg had a small beginning as an Eye Clinic in 1998 Surgeries were performed at a nearby multi speciality hospital Work on the new hospital building and Operation Theatre Complex was started in 1999 Mr Subramaniya Iyer former Chief Engineer PWD was the person chosen to plan coordinate and execute the project

The theatre complex was inagurated in March 2001 by Mrs Vijayamma Gangadharan founder chairman of Divya Prabhareg Medical Trust The theatre complex was designed with a sterile air corridor with separate theatres for Cataract and Glaucoma surgeries emergency surgeries and septic procedures The theatres are equipped with UV lamps fumigators water and air purifiers for added safety

Divya Prabhareg Eye Hospital was established in 1998 one year after Dr N Prabhakaran passed away What started out as a small clinic soon grew into a full fledged eye hospital under the able guidance of Dr Suseela Prabhakaran She received good support from her relatives friends patients and industry

The first event organized by the hospital was Dr N Prabhakaran Memorial Eye camp scheme This continuing project aims at bringing latest eye care to the poor patients We have not refused surgery for a patient just because he did not have money to pay for surgery

We have got all the latest imported equipments for Cataract and Glaucoma treatment The machines are upgraded at regular intervals Ours doctors attend national and international conferences to stay on the cutting edge of technology
