Description

Christu Raj Hospital Thokkilangady belonging to the Sacred Heart Sisters of Thalassery Province is one of the premier institutions in the health scenario of Malabar

It was established on 23rd June 1983 and it is situated in the municipal area of Kuthuparamba along side Thalassery Mysore interstate high way

The inception of the hospital was in tune with the Mission and Vision of the Sacred Heart Congregation

Ever since the beginning the Congregation tries to radiate Compassionate Love towards the downtrodden and the marginalized The source of inspiration for every activity of this sort is the founder Rev Fr Mathew Kadalikkattil a great visionary and a luminary

The commencement of the functioning of the hospital was in a humble way with 25 beds single doctor and a small team of dedicated staff The formal inauguration of the hospital was done by Mar Sebastian Valloppilly the founder Bishop of Thalassery Diocese on 23rd June 1983 and the same day witnessed the blessing ceremony of the institution by Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy the first Bishop of Mananthavady Diocese

As to serve the medical needs of the people of Malabar in a better way the hospital manifested trends of expansion gradually Now it has turned to be a 250 bedded multispeciality hospital A well ventilated building serene and homely atmosphere adds special charm to the institution A beautiful chapel in the midst of the hospital complex and the divine presence makes the entire campus graceful and strengthens all our activities

The beginning of Christu Raj Nursing School in 2002 is a milestone in the history of the hospital It serves as an affordable promised land for the girls irrespective of caste and creed from the under developed regions of Malabar who aspire intensely to dedicate themselves in the medical field and there by to support their families

Christu Raj Hospital celebrating its Silver Jubilee in the year 2008 is proud of having rendered yeoman service as a health care centre in the periphery catering to the needs of the inhabitants of Malabar who find most of the hospitals un accessible in many ways right from inception

On this auspicious occasion of 25th year we bow down our heads with thanks before the Almighty for the infinite graces showered on us The vital role of Rev Sr Mary James who has been steering the institution all through the year in a vibrant way is specially acknowledged We do remember with gratitude all the Provincial teams all the Doctors and Staff Govt Officials Benefactors Beneficiaries the public and all others concerned who in their own way helped the hospital to grow day by day
