On September 25 1997 to assure funds raised locally would be used locally the Foundation was incorporated as an independent entity governed by a Board of Directors of 9 people representing all areas of the Peninsula

In 2008 Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation Board invited healthcare groups from Sauble Beach Wiarton Lions Head and Tobermory to meet with our Board of Directors and staff to provide an overview of their operations and to help us determine the working relationship between these groups and our Foundation Thus the new mission statement of Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation was changed to be more inclusive and now reads quotto assist in meeting the health care needs of the people of the Bruce Peninsula areaquot

The Provincial Ministry of Health does not provide all the funding required by todays hospitals for uptodate technology and facilities The funds must therefore come from the people who use the services

Our Foundation supprts two of Grey Bruce Health Services Hospitals Lions Head and Wiarton as well as two Family Health Teams Tobermory and Sauble Beach
